  10.        This release note describes patch SG0000167 to IRIX 5.2.

  14.        This patch contains bug fixes for all platforms.

  18.        This patch contains bug fixes for IRIX 5.2, and all IRIX 5.2
  19.        releases for specific hardware platforms.  The software
  20.        cannot be installed on other configurations.

  24.        This patch contains fixes for the following bugs in IRIX
  25.        5.2.  Bug numbers from Silicon Graphics bug tracking system

  29.             could create a program which is owned by root and
  30.             setuid on a DOS volume such as a floppy disk.  (Bug

  42.        Because you want to install patches for only the problems
  43.        you have encountered, patch software is not installed by
  44.        default. After reading the descriptions of the bugs fixed in
  45.        this patch, determine the patches that meet your specific
  46.        needs.

  48.        Patch software is installed like any other Silicon Graphics
  49.        software product.  It must be installed from the miniroot.
  50.        Follow the instructions in your _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n
  51.        _G_u_i_d_e to bring up the miniroot form of the software
  52.        installation tools.

  54.        Follow these steps to select a patch for installation:

  76.          2.  Select the desired patches for installation.

  78.          3.  Initiate the installation sequence. Type

  83.              incompatible.  If this occurs, you must deselect one
  84.              of the patches.

  96.        To remove a patch, use the _v_e_r_s_i_o_n_s _r_e_m_o_v_e command as you
  97.        would for any other software subsystem.  The removal process
  98.        reinstates the original version of software unless you have
  99.        specifically removed the patch history from your system.
